Hingham police are asking for the public’s help as they search for a brazen bank robber.

The suspect held up the Eastern Bank on 274 Main St. late Friday afternoon.

Police told WATD he entered through the side entrance shortly before closing.

He approached a teller, and without showing a weapon or a note, demanded she fill a bag with large-denomination bills, and then left by the same entrance with an unknown amount of cash.

Police think the suspect may have fled on foot to a car waiting at a gas station on Rte. 228.

He’s described as a white male, approximately 5’ 10’’, wearing work boots, khaki pants, a black hooded sweatshirt, black ski mask and black gloves.

No one was hurt during the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call Hingham police at (781) 749-1212
