A man allegedly caught shoplifting red-handed at Independence Mall in Kingston, will appear in court on Monday.
Kingston police told WATD the unidentified 22-year-old man walked into the Sears store Saturday afternoon, took off the boots he was wearing, and put on a new pair.
The suspect pulled what police called a “utility tool” on a store security officer who stopped him just outside the building.
The man started running, but was caught and arrested without incident a short distance away.
He is scheduled to be arraigned in Plymouth District Court on charges of larceny and assault with a dangerous weapon.
