Marshfield: Police arrest alleged heroin dealer from Dorchester

Marshfield Police make a drug bust and arrested a Dorchester man after he allegedly came to Marshfield to sell heroin to a woman at 697 Plain Street.

“Members of the Marshfield Police and Old Colony Anti-crime taskforce and the DEA Task force arrested two individuals; a female resident here and a male party out of Dorchester,” according to Marshfield Police Captain Phil Tavares. “The male party was on his way down here to deliver heroin to this resident, at which time we placed both of them under arrest.”

Officers from the Marshfield Police Department and the DEA combed through the car which was parked in front of number 697 Plain Street.

Tavares says heroin was found in the car, which was towed back to the Marshfield Police Department.

“This (arrest) will have a minor impact,” said Tavares. ”But its something we need to continue to do, because heroin and opiate additicion are killing our residents and destroying our families.”

Tavares says they are not releasing the names yet – but they do plan to.

The alleged drug dealer is also being charged with resisting arrest, after he locked himself in his mini-van. Officers broke the windows of the car and pepper sprayed the man to subdue him.

The Dorchester man is believed to be in his late 40’s or 50’s.
