Senator Scott Brown told the Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce Friday that government shutdown is not an answer.
The Chamber hosted Senator Scott Brown and the largest crowd ever at their annual meeting Friday-close to 400 people were in attendance.
Senator Brown told the group their money in not in good hands when the government can exercise control of it:
“Bottom line is everyone knows that the government is not a good steward of our money. It’s evidenced by a lot of the waste you read about on an every day basis.”
Brown also said policies that threaten to shut down the government are not the way to go: “We need to work together to solve our country’s problems and we shouldn’t be shutting down the government every time there is a problem.”
The Senator reminded the group of his recently opened Plymouth office and urged people to make contact there should they need his assistance.
*CORRECTION*
In the 2nd paragraph from the bottom we corrected a quote, which was misspelled, and changed the meaning of the statement. The statement from Senator Brown should read, “We shouldn’t be shutting down.” Originally, it was inadvertently transcribed to read ”we shoudl be shutting down.”
