A lot of people on the South Shore rang in the New Year with a splash.
Annual events featuring icy dips at local beaches took place Sunday afternoon.
The Humarock Hurricane Plunge was held at the public beach near the intersection of Marshfield and Central Ave. in Scituate.
Participants were asked to bring items to donate to the local Food Pantry.
The Rexhame Rangers’ annual New Year’s swim took place in Marshfield.
In Weymouth, the annual Frozen Wildcat Plunge took place at Wessagusset Beach to raise money for the high school athletic department.
