Weymouth: Police looking for witnesses of woman allegedly struck by tractor-trailer

A woman is hospitalized after a tractor-trailer reportedly hit her in Weymouth late last month, and police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate.

Weymouth Police Officer Micheal Syms, who is leading the accident reconstruction investigation, says a 64-year-old Onechanh Xayavong was taken to South Shore Hospital with serious injuries after the incident on December 28th.

Syms says the incident occurred at 8:55 a.m., at Washington and Vine, while the truck was traveling southbound. The driver says he never saw the woman, and that it was hard to see because of solar glare.

If you were a witness to the accident, please contact Officer Michael Syms at 781-335-1212 extension 312.
