South Shore: Attempted rape charges dropped

Authorities have dropped charges against two men arrested last Thanksgiving after a Marshfield woman claimed they tried to rape her in her home.

Accused were Michael Civitarese of Marshfield and Ronald Pelletier of Weymouth.

Pelletier was also charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

The Plymouth D.A.’s office says it decided to drop the charges after interviewing the alleged victim.

Civitarese’s sister, Karen Civitarese, was also arrested on Thanksgiving for apparently ‘threatening’ the woman who said she was attacked.

Karen Civitarese will be in court for a pretrial hearing on March 1.
