Marshfield: Victim of weekend accident identified

An 18-year-old Marshfield man was killed early Saturday in a fiery crash in North Marshfield.

Michael Harrington was a senior at Marshfield High School.

A vigil was held the crash site Saturday night. About 30 of his classmates participated.

Police say Harrington’s car was traveling westbound on Highland Street when it left the road about 4:40 a.m. Saturday and struck a tree. The vehicle then caught fire.

An autopsy is being performed to determine the exact cause of death.
