Weymouth: Man faces charges of armed robbery, larceny and domestic assault

A Weymouth man is facing charges of armed robbery, theft, drug possession and domestic assault charges.

23 year-old Ryan Finnegan was arrested by Weymouth police after he had allegedly robbed the Landing News Variety Store on Washington Street.

He’s also charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and larceny over $250.

A police officer, who was in the store at the time, recognized Finnegan’s description as the same one of a suspect in a domestic violence incident that they were investigating.

Police found Finnegan as he was hiding in Pond Meadow Park, which is less than a mile from the store.

A friend of Finnegan’s told police that he had picked up Finnegan shortly after the robbery and taken him to the park.

Police recovered most of the money that was allegedly stolen.

As it turned out, Finnegan’s gun was discovered to be nothing more than a BB replica of a handgun.

About David Skill

Dave Skill’s radio career began in the fall of 1964 when he arrived on the campus of Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. Dave barely got his bags unpacked when he paid a visit to WCHC, the campus radio station. And, before he knew it, he was spending so much time as a disc jockey and news writer/reporter, it seemed like he was majoring in “radio” and minoring in academics at “The Cross”. As you might imagine, his grades reflected it! During his junior and senior years, he also worked weekends in news and as a disc jockey at WNEB, the CBS radio affiliate in Worcester at the time.
