Braintree: Welcome home ceremony awaits National Guard members

Some 700 Massachusetts National Guard members, many from the South Shore, will returning home from Afghanistan Monday morning.

They’re members of the 1st Battalion, 182nd Infantry Regiment, deployed from armories in Melrose, Middleboro, and Braintree.

The soldiers will be escorted from Logan Airport, with Gov. Deval Patrick and Plymouth D.A. Timothy Cruz among the the officials expected to be on hand.

There will be a special welcoming ceremony at the Braintree armory at 8:00 a.m. Monday.
