Bridgewater: Town Council moving forward with recall

The Bridgewater Town Council is pressing ahead with a recall election for two of its own.

Councilors Peter Riordan and Mike Demos are being targeted.

A fellow Councilor tried to slow down the recall effort by asking the board get a judge’s ruling on the legality of the move, saying it’s aimed only at gaining control of the council and the town.

But the council rejected the idea, and must schedule an election between 60 and 90 days from the date the recall petitions were certified by the town clerk, meaning it must fall between late April and late May.

The Bridgewater Council President is asking for a May 19th election.
