Hanover: Bridgewater Town Manager accepts position in Hanover

After two months, the search is over in Hanover. Monday night, Selectmen announced Troy Clarkson, the current Bridgewater Town Manager, accepted their offer as the new Hanover Town Manager. Though Clarkson was not at the Selectmen’s meeting, the board complimented Clarkson calling him a “professional communicator and collaborator.”

“It was a difficult decision. Mr. Clarkson brings years of experience and an energy level that was very pleasing to the board,” said Selectman Chair Susan Setterland

Clarkson has been Bridgewater’s Manager since 2010 and will be filling the shoes of Steve Rollins, Hanover’s 1st Town Manager who’s retiring after 25 years to pursue interests in television and consulting.

Rollins explained the change over date is still unknown, “The Selectmen will decide the transition date from the old Manager to the new Manager and I all feel certain of is it will happen before July 1.”

Clarkson’s official welcome to Hanover is subject to successful completion of a background check and contract negotiation.
