Brockton: City gets state grant for historical survey

Brockton has received a $10,000 matching state grant to fund a historic building survey of the city’s downtown.

The community’s match will come from the mayor’s fiscal 2013 budget.

With the grant, Brockton will hire a consultant to survey up to 100 buildings.

The final survey list will be sent to the state Historical Commission for consideration to join the 16 other locations in Brockton on the National Register of Historic Places.
