Red Sox: Yankees, Sox match up postponed yesterday; Sox take on Twins tonight

The New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox game last night was postponed by rain. The game was called about five hours before the scheduled first pitch because of heavy rain up and down the East Coast. The Sox open up a 3-game series in Minnesota tonight at 8:10 p.m.

The Red Sox will promote first baseman and outfielder Lars Anderson from Triple-A Pawtucket. He will replace outfielder Jason Repko on the active roster. Repko is heading to the disabled list with a shoulder injury. Anderson spent time in the Majors the past two seasons, hitting .175 with no homers and four RBI’s in 40 at-bats.
