Hanover: Town Meeting will consider meals tax and a $49.2 million budget

At tonight’s Hanover Town meeting, voters will decide if the town should have an additional tax on restaurant meals.

Residents will also decide whether to approve a $49.2 million budget for the coming fiscal year.

The special town meeting warrant has just two articles: a funding request for an independent school audit and a proposal to spend $10,000 on fireworks for the Hanover Day celebration.

Annual town meeting is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m at Hanover High School. At 7:30 p.m, the special town meeting warrant will be addressed.

About David Skill

Dave Skill’s radio career began in the fall of 1964 when he arrived on the campus of Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. Dave barely got his bags unpacked when he paid a visit to WCHC, the campus radio station. And, before he knew it, he was spending so much time as a disc jockey and news writer/reporter, it seemed like he was majoring in “radio” and minoring in academics at “The Cross”. As you might imagine, his grades reflected it! During his junior and senior years, he also worked weekends in news and as a disc jockey at WNEB, the CBS radio affiliate in Worcester at the time.
