Hanson: Voters to decide 3 races and the fate of 2 ballot questions

Hanson voters will decide three contested races at tomorrow’s annual election.

For two seats on the Board of Selectmen for a three-year term, the candidates are the current chairman of the Board, Stephen Amico, selectman Donald Howard and challenger David Tregoning,

Four candidates are in the running for a one-year term as Highway Surveyor – Robert Brown Jr., Alfred C. Kantos, Mark Nixon, and Matthew Palermo.

There is also a two-way race for a one-year term as Tree Warden between Brown and Palermo.

There is also a Proposition 2-1/2 override question that, if approved by voters, would add $236,000 to Hanson’s share of the Whitman-Hanson Regional Schools budget.

And there is an override to fund the purchase of a new fire engine.

Polls are open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. tomorrow at the Maquan School.
