Kingston: Special Town Meeting tonight

Kingston voters will address seven articles at tonight’s Special Town Meeting.

One petitioned warrant article from the previous Town Meeting had to be postponed until tonight because of a mistake in the original recording of the correct map and lot number in the article.

If approved, the article would rezone the land at 121 and 125 Main Street as a Commercial District.

The change would allow for the construction of a Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant with a drive-thru window.

Another zoning-related article asks Special Town Meeting to expand the town’s Large-Scale Ground-Mounted Solar Photovoltaic Installations Overlay District to include land off Monks Hill Road near the Independence Mall.

There are also several articles that would change the town’s general bylaws. One would amend the definition of a kennel by adding new language that would exempt the town’s canine daycare facilities from the requirement that they have a kennel license.

Special Town Meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. at the Kingston Intermediate School.
