Kingston: Arraignment set for driver involved in serious crash

An arraignment is planned for Thursday in Plymouth District Court for the driver of a motor vehicle that was involved in a serious motor vehicle crash with a school bus earlier this year, near Silver Lake Regional High School.

Monica Knight, the driver of the BMW, will be arraigned on several charges, including one count each of reckless operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stay in marked lanes, a junior operator passenger violation, failure to wear a seat belt and possession of a class”B” substance.

It’s not clear what the Class “B” substance is.  According to the state’s drug laws,  Class “B” can be any number of drugs including cocaine, oxycontin, and amphetamines, as well as others.

The crash, that happened about 7:15 a.m. on Kingston’s Lake Street, on March 30th, occurred when the BMW reportedly crossed over the center line crashing into a school bus head-on.

The driver of the bus was unharmed, but the four occupants of the BMW, all Silver Lake students, were taken to hospitals. Knight was released from the hospital after a few days, the others, a young man, and two young women, were taken to Boston hospitals with serious injuries.
