Plymouth: Retired Entergy spokesman returns as liaison during labor dispute

Plymouth Town Manager Melissa Arrighi and retired Entergy communications manager David Tarantino are scheduled to meet today. Tarantino talks about his new role as liaison between the town and the Pilgrim Plant.

David Tarantino retired about a year ago and, at Entergy’s request, is back on board during the labor dispute.

“My job is really to keep everybody up to speed with what’s going on, take care of questions as to why there is a lock-out, question as to what progress is being made—just to keep everybody informed as to the status of the labor action.”

What is the status now?

“The status is that we are proceeding with a mediation process and the mediator has asked both sides to stand down. We’re willing to go back to the table at anytime. We’re willing to begin negotiations, but, we’re, at the present time, at the mediator’s direction, not negotiating. ”

So, what could change that?

“The union approach the mediator and say we’ll go back to the table.”

David Tarantino is a former Plymouth Selectman.
