A 56-year-old cab driver from Weymouth was taken to South Shore Hospital after he was robbed and stabbed early Saturday morning in Whitman.
Police have identified the suspect as 21 year-old Christopher Hebert of Weymouth.
The cab driver suffered, what were described as, serious stab wounds.
According to Whitman Police, the cab driver struggled with his assailant before he was stabbed.
Police were first called to Pine Street near Hutchinson Terrace for a motor vehicle accident. Then a second call came in saying that there had been an attempted armed robbery with a knife.
Hebert is being arraigned Monday in Brockton District Court.
