Brockton: K-9 helps nab suspected purse snatcher

A Brockton man is under arrest after police say he hit another man with the butt of a gun and stole a woman’s purse.

Officers were called to the intersection of Loucraft and Warren Avenues Thursday night by a woman who said it was her ex-boyfriend who did it.

Authorities tracked down 27-year-old Edmar Goncalves with the help of a K-9 unit, and arrested him on charges of assault and malicious destruction of property.
