Braintree: Child molester gets jail time

A Braintree man was sentenced to 2 ½ years in jail after pleading guilty to molesting two boys.

Michael Cimmino, a former Cub Scout leader and religious educator, initially pleaded not guilty in March of last year.

The original charges included kidnapping, which could have carried a life sentence, but that charge was dropped when he changed his plea.

Cimmino admitted molesting one boy in his home on New Year’s Eve 2010.

He also admitted molesting the second victim, who came forward during the investigation.

Cimmino was also ordered to serve six years’ probation upon his release.
