Shooting of the independent film ‘The Way, Way Back’, which stars South Shore local Steve Carell, started in June and for the next two weeks Green Harbor Beach will be crowded with the film’s crew and equipment.
So far, during the few days of filming at Green Harbor, residents say they aren’t bothered by all the activity.
“I think it’s great, great for the town and for the area,” said one resident
Patrice from Marshfield tried getting on Green Harbor beach Thursday morning through the public entrance, “Evidently they’re filming right on the walkway to the beach so I’m being directed two houses down.”
But like many other beachgoers, she didn’t mind walking the extra distance, “No at all. I think it’s exciting to have them here and that they’re using Massachusetts and Marshfield. I think it’s wonderful.”
A Bay Avenue home will be featured in the film; the road will be blocked to traffic at various times as a result.
Steve Carell plays the boyfriend of a woman with a teenage son in the comedy-drama which currently has no release date.
