Authorities think an arsonist may be to blame for a fire that damaged part of a vacant building on Route-53 in Norwell.
Firefighters were able to confine the July 14th blaze at 57 Washington St. to a rear garage that had been converted into offices.
About 20 percent of the Cape-style building was damaged, and authorities say its owner applied for a permit to demolish it.
Extra police patrols will be in the area until that happens.
The building once housed the office of the New England Real Estate Journal.
