Plymouth: Proposal for downtown parking garage to go in front of Selectmen

The Plymouth Board of Selectmen requested the PGDC–the town’s parking plan managers–schedule a presentation concerning the group’s proposal to build a parking garage downtown.

Leighton Price, President of the PGDC, says the proposed site for the facility is behind Memorial Hall:

“The intent is to build it on the Memorial Hall lot so that it would be a transportation center on the first floor with buses being accommodated and then three floors of parking above that.”

The PGDC has had a consultant working on a transportation study for about a year and a half evaluating a number of different sites. That effort will be wrapping up soon and be part of the presentation to the Select and Planning Boards in a joint session.

Target date for the presentation is early in the fall.
