Bridgewater: Suspect caught in car chase that began at police station

A car chase that came to a crash ending, started at the Bridgewater police station, of all places.

19-year-old Diego Pires of Brockton was at the station on an unrelated matter, when officers discovered his license had been suspended.

Pires then sped off, with officers following in hot pursuit.

The chase ended a short time later, when Pires’ car ran off the road in West Bridgewater, near Maple St.

Pires, who was not hurt, is facing a several charges including failure to stop for police, operating with a suspended license, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, and failure to stop at a stop sign.
