A company already operating two Massachusetts charter schools has begun the application process to add a third, and it’s slated for Brockton.
The proposed International Charter School of Brockton would be run by Sabis Educational Systems, Inc.
A board of trustees made up of parents and community leaders would oversee the school, slated to open in 2014 with 540 students in grades K-5.
The plans are to expand by one grade level each year until reaching 1,200 K-12 students.
Sabis runs a charter school in Springfield, where every senior has been accepted to college for the past eleven years.
The company also manages a similar school in Holyoke, and is opening one in Lowell next year.
