BOSTON (AP) — Kevin Garnett’s bid to buy a stake in an Italian soccer team has been nixed due to an obscure NBA rule. The Boston Globe reports that because AS Roma’s principal investor also happens to own a piece of the Celtics, Garnett isn’t allowed to also participate in the venture. The Celtics big man asked for an exemption but was turned down.
