Quincy: Police investigate repeat bank robbery

A Quincy bank was robbed Friday morning– the second time in recent weeks.

Quincy Police Captain John Dougan says the Eastern Bank 63 Franklin Street was robbed at 9:39 a.m. Friday. It was also robbed on July 30th.

“At this time detectives are looking at the tapes and reports from last time to see if this person may possibly be the one involved in the robbery two weeks ago,” said Capt. Dougan.

The suspect is described as a white male, between his early 20s and 30s, tall with a medium build, a scruffy beard, and wearing a green reflector utility vest, red hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Capt. Dougan said that according to the teller, the man passed him a note asking for large bills. The teller gave him the money, and the suspect ran out the door.

“We had our canine track the suspect’s trail to Independence Ave.; from there it looks like he was picked up in a vehicle and fled,” said Capt. Dougan.

Anyone with information can call Quincy police.
