Brockton police are on the hunt for a suspect in the shooting of a young girl.
It happened at approximately 8:45 p.m. Friday inside her family’s apartment at 560 N. Montello St.
The unidentified eight-year-old is at Brockton Hospital with a leg wound.
The suspect is identified as 28-year-old Eric Leach of Brockton.
Another local man, 27-year-old Jose Santiago, was arrested at the apartment and charged with trying to mislead investigators.
Neither the motive nor the possible relationship between the men and the girl are known.
