Carver: Truck goes off road, lands in pond

Truck lands upside down in Carver pond, leaving only wheels exposed

It was a busy Saturday for Carver police.

A woman was arrested late in the afternoon for shoplifting at the King Richard’s Faire.

Rhonda Mackiewicz will appear in Wareham District Court on Tuesday.

In another incident, shortly after 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Carver officers responded to a call about a vehicle that veered off Plymouth St. and into a pond.

Police arriving on the scene found a pickup truck upside down in the water, with only the tires showing.

The driver, Peter Grover of Kingston, was pulled from the vehicle by area residents.

An off-duty firefighter performed C.P.R. and revived him before he was taken to a hospital, and was reported to be in good condition at Jordan Hospital on Sunday afternoon.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Also in Carver, a suspected drunk driver arrested Saturday night, will be in Wareham District Court on Tuesday

At approximately nine p.m., police pulled over an S.U.V. driven by Catherine Nelson after getting a call about an erratic driver.

Police say she appeared to be drunk and had an open alcohol container.
