James Winquist Trial: Jury resumes deliberations, asks to stay thirty minutes later

Jury deliberations continue inside Brockton Superior Court on Monday, in the trial of James Winquist.

12 members of a 15 member jury are deliberating on two 1st degree murder charges against Winquist. The former Weymouth man is accused of bludgeoning to death two homeless men and severing one of the victim’s hands off in Hingham’s Bare Cove Park in 2005.

Prosecutors allege the killings were a way for Winquist to “earn his bones”, or acceptance, into a white supremacy gang known as the Brotherhood of Blood, founded by former co-defendant Eric Snow, Winquist and a prosecution witness Mike Alfano.

Snow committed suicide in March while in custody at the Plymouth County House of Correction.

The jury got the case on Friday, and deliberated for just a few hours. They resumed deliberations today.
