FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — The New England Patriots have signed veteran free agent Michael Hoomanawanui and placed Visanthe Shiancoe on injured reserve in moves involving tight ends. Shiancoe could return midway through the season under a new rule allowing teams to designate one player it can restore to the roster from injured reserve.
