Plymouth:Sen. Pres. Murray honored by family services agency

Senate President Terry Murray has been recognized by Health Imperatives, a nonprofit agency based in Brockton. They provide medical services and counseling to families in Southeastern Massachusetts.

At Memorial Hall Monday night, state and local officials and health care providers applauded the efforts of  Murray, who accepted an award honoring her dedication to the goals of Health Imperatives.

Murray particularly praised the groups’ efforts in providing family planning, medical care, counseling and education to those in need. The group has the only domestic violence shelter in Plymouth County, serving adults and children from across the state.

Chairman of the Board of Directors, Ellen Lawton, called Murray the obvious choice for recognition because she understands the issues and helps in securing funding for the groups’ programs.
