Rockland Police are seeking the public’s help, as they search for a man who held up the Tedeschi’s Food Shop on Union St. with what appeared to be a hand grenade Friday night.

The suspect, who was wearing a mask, demanded money and a pack of cigarettes from the clerk, showed the grenade, and fled with a least $200 in cash.

The man is described as white, approximately six feet tall, medium build, wearing a brown baggy long sleeve shirt, tan cargo pants and a green camouflage bandana.

Lieutenant Nicholas Zeoli told WATD that investigators are chasing down leads and examining surveillance video.

Anyone with information is asked to call Rockland police at (781) 871-3890.
