Abington: Pedestrian suffers serious injuries in motor vehicle accident

A pedestrian struck by a car last night in Abington suffered serious, possibly life-threatening, injuries.

The accident happened on Centre Avenue near Lake Street just after 7:30 p.m. In addition to Abington Police and Fire, the state’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation also responded. The man, according to firefighters who treated him at the scene, appeared to be in his twenties. He was taken to South Shore Hospital by ambulance because no MedFlight helicopter was available because of the weather.
