Hingham: Attempted house break-in reported by Hull Street resident

Another attempted housebreak has been reported in Hingham.

Police say that Tuesday night around 9:00, a resident of the 200 block of Hull Street, that’s Route 228, notified the police. Officers who responded to the scene found a front window was shattered and the screen had been removed and left on the ground. Police also saw traces of  blood on the left hand corner of the window. The homeowner said that no valuables, including a laptop computer, had been taken.

Police believe the would-be thief didn’t actually enter the house because he cut himself on the glass or, possibly, was scared away for some other reason. It is believed that the attempted break-in happened between 1:15pm and 3:15 Tuesday afternoon.
