Marshfield police are giving people a place to get rid of old medications safely.
Starting Monday, residents can dump expired or unused meds at the Marshfield police station on Ocean St.
Drug disposal bins, accessible 24-7, are now available in the lobby, though needles will not be accepted.
The receptacles are bolted to the floor and are under video surveillance.
Police say the idea is to keep addictive opiates and other drugs out of the hands of recreational users.
If someone can’t make a drop off, a pickup may be arranged by calling the Marshfield police station.
