Hanson: An explosive Board of Health meeting results in an angry crowd tossing furniture, BOH Chair plans to press charges

According to Board of Health Chair Tom Constantine, chairs were thrown by audience members and he was struck with a table immediately after a vote was cast by the Board to seek legal counsel to deal with the overarching authority of the Town Administrator.

“I was literally in fear. I thought I was going to get a beating by the hands of these people,” says Constantine

A 911 call was made and Hanson police responded to a town hall meeting room where the BOH meeting was being held. “Dispatch received an emergency 911 call from a town hall employee indicating that a few citizens were out of control. Police arrived a short time later and restored order. There were no arrests made,” read a Hanson Police Department press release

Constantine says he, “absolutely plans to press charges.” The incident remains under investigation by Hanson police.
