Red Sox: General Manager has role for retired pitcher Pedro Martinez

(AP) — Boston Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington says he has a role waiting for retired pitcher Pedro Martinez, if he wants it. Cherington says he’s had discussions with Martinez about rejoining the Sox as an instructor. Martinez was in town on Saturday at the Greater Boston Sports Collectors Club convention.
