Veterans Day: Parades, breakfasts, and rememberance ceremonies on the South Shore

Saturday, November 10

Carver – 8:30am breakfast at American Legion Post for Carver Veterans

Cohasset – 10am – 2pm a Veteran’s Summit will happen at Cohasset Town Hall auditorium.

Sunday, November 11

Abington, Rockland & Whitman – 1:00pm parade in Abington for this year’s Tri-Town Veteran’s Day celebration. It will start at the Abington Police Station and will end at Railroad St in North Abington.

Braintree – 10:30am ceremony at East Middle School. Chief Warrant Officer Thomas McNulty will speak.

Hingham – “CPL Lawrence St. Laurent Breakfast” at Hingham Senior Center 8:30-10am. Open to all military veterans and their families. A Military themed slide show will start at 8:30-10:30 in the Central Meeting room at Hingham Town Hall. A ceremony at Sanborn Auditorium at Town Hall will start at 11am with reserved seating for all military and veterans moderated by Michael Puzo and music by Hingham High School Band. Colonel Janet Thompson, US Army, will also speak. A wreath laying ceremony and pledge of allegiance will follow at Veteran’s Memorial outside town hall.

Duxbury – Honoring Lt. Timothy Steele: 11am monument dedication at Duxbury American Legion post to dedicate the new War on Terrorism Monument.

Cohasset – 1pm ceremony at the Cohasset Veteran’s Memorial.

Halifax – 9am ceremony in the center of town.

Hanover – 9:30am breakfast for Veterans at Hanover Senior Center followed by a 10am Sing-A-Long.

Hanson – 10am breakfast at Senior Center followed by 11am Ceremony.

Hull – 11am ceremony at Monument Park. WWII Veteran Gordon J O’Brien will speak.

Marshfield – 10:30am parade starting at Snow Rd ending at Veteran’s Memorial Park.

Norwell – 11am ceremony at town common.

Pembroke – 10:45am ceremony at Pembroke Middle School.

Plymouth – 1pm parade starting on Hedge Rd ending at Training Green. Ceremony will follow.

Scituate – 10:30am ceremony at GAR Hall. Veteran’s luncheon will follow.

Weymouth – 9:15am ceremony at Korean War Memorial in Jackson Sq. 10am parade from Jackson Sq to town hall. 11am ceremony at Ralph Talbot Amphitheater.

Quincy – 1:00pm parade starting at Scannell St and Quincy Ave. It will proceed down Hancock St to Adams Academy for Ceremonies. Guest Speaker will be George Nicholson, Sr Vice Commander of the Quincy Veteran’s Council Chaplain. Incase of inclement weather the event will be held at Quincy High School gym.
