A Braintree woman is charged with operating under the influence of alcohol following a motor vehicle accident on Monday night. 51 year-old Donna Meola was arrested after allegedly crashing into a fence in front of a Quincy Avenue business.
A witness to the accident told police officers that he followed Meola from Quincy after she allegedly struck his vehicle in a Quincy parking lot and then fled into Braintree.
The witness also stated that while Meola was traveling south on Quincy Avenue, she crossed over into the northbound lane several times, nearly striking vehicles that were traveling north.
He said Meola then suddenly turned left onto the sidewalk, crashing through a chain link fence and into the parking lot of the business. Meola was not injured in the crash, but did show signs of possible intoxication. Meola refused to take a sobriety test and was arrested.
