More than 200 runners and walkers braved the elements on Saturday to participate in the 14th annual Jingle Bell Run at the Massasoit Conference Center in Brockton.

This is no ordinary charity race as individuals dress up and navigate a two mile course in holiday costumes. One of the more creatively dressed groups, known as the Army angels, collected the most donations.

During the post-race festivities they present a check to event organizer Dave Gorman.Brockton resident Joanne Hendrigan says she and her family make it a point to attend the event every year.

The event also drew some well-known faces including State Senator Tom Kennedy, State Representatives Mike Brady and Claire Cronin, as well as several members of the city council, who assembled to sing Christmas Carols for the folks in attendance. According to event organizer Dave Gorman, the Jingle Bell Run collected approximately twelve thousand dollars in donations for the Enterprise’s Helping Hands fund which helps families in need.
