Middleboro: State conservation grant is given

Conservationists in Middleboro are getting a boost from the state.

The community is among those across Massachusetts to receive a grant aimed at non-profit groups.

All told, $504,000 is being given to seven organizations to preserve more than 200 acres of open space in the state.

A $60,000 grant is being given to the Buzzards Bay Coalition for the Rocky Gutter Wildlife Corridor Project in Middleboro.

It’s 30 acres of land that provide a buffer to the headwater wetland areas containing wildlife habitat and recreation opportunities.
