East Bridgewater: Crash shuts down Harvard Street

A serious crash on Harvard Street in East Bridgewater has shut down that road – and authorities say that road could be shut down for quite some time.

Police say 24-year-old Rebecca Libby appears to have been traveling home to Holly Lane in East Bridgewater when the crash occurred in the area of  513 Harvard Street.

Authorities say speed does not seem to be a factor, and there are no signs that alcohol played a role in the crash.

Libby was flown to the Boston Medical Center with what are described as serious but non life threatening injuries.

The crash tore down  utility lines in that area – forcing the closure of Harvard Street from Route 18 to Michelson Street.

No time table was immediately available when that road would be completely re-opened. Police say it could be some time.
