Now that Laura Burns, Hingham’s selectmen chair, has announced that she will not run for re-election this spring, a longtime member of the Planning Board says he may run for a seat on the board. Planning Board member Paul Healey is an attorney and former police officer. Healey has one more year remaining in his fourth term on the Planning Board
But if he won election as selectman, members of the selectmen and planning board would have to jointly name someone to serve on the planning board for the rest of Healey’s term.
Burns said she may possibly serve on other town boards in the future.
Hingham’s annual election is on April 27. Nomination papers from prospective candidates must be returned to the town clerk by March 7.
