27th Annual Brockton Area NAACP Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast in Brockton: 9 a.m.-noon, Shaw’s Center, 1 Feinberg Way, Brockton. $5-$30. 508-587-0502.

Sunday, Jan. 20

Monday, Jan. 21

Interfaith MLK Jr. Breakfast in Plymouth: 8 a.m. at the cafetorium in Plymouth South High School, 490 Long Pond Road, Plymouth. The Plymouth No Place for Hate Committee, Plymouth Public Schools and the Plymouth Area Interfaith Clergy Association will sponsor this event. There will be music renditions by the Pilgrim Festival Chorus, Plymouth high school students and the Plymouth AME church choir. Breakfast is $8 per person. Tickets available from local churches, the members of the NPFH Committee, and at the door.

MLK Jr. Prayer Breakfast in Duxbury: Breakfast will begin at 8:15 a.m. and the service will begin at 9 a.m. Hosted by The Duxbury No Place for Hate Committee and the Interfaith Council, at St. Paul’s Church of the Nazarene, 136 Summer St., Duxbury. Tribute to the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. will be made and Dr. Jossie Owens will be the featured speaker. Also participating in the service will be the High School’s “Chamber Singers” under the direction of Robert Judge. There is a requested donation of $5 per person or $10 per family. Martin Luther King, Jr., Celebration in Hingham: 8 a.m at the Conference Center at Glastonbury Abbey in Hingham. Local story-teller, Jay O’Callahan, will be regaling the community with tales of war and peace and hate and race at the Annual Celebration of the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. This event will have breakfast followed by storytelling. Children, grownups – everyone – will be charmed by Jay’s stories. $5 suggested contribution for breakfast is $5.

11th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration at Massasoit Community College: 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. President’s Community Advisory Council presents the 11th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration – “Never Forget the Dream”. Massasoit Community College, The Conference Center at Massasoit, 770 Crescent Street, Brockton, MA. Admission is Free. All are cordially invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
