Duxbury: Pizza shop worker arrested for bank robbery

A Carver man was arrested Tuesday while working at Duxbury pizza shop on charges he robbed a Wareham bank.

Duxbury Police Chief Matt Clancy says the Eastern Bank on Cranberry Highway was robbed Tuesday by a suspect who entered the bank and passed a note alluding to a weapon. Wareham police, working with an FBI task force, contacted Duxbury Tuesday afternoon because they believed the suspect worked in town.

Duxbury police identified the suspect as 35-year-old Nicholas Liadis, of Carver–an employee of Dimitri’s Pizza in the Cox’s Corner business area in Duxbury.

Duxbury police, along with FBI agents, went to Dimitri’s around 7 p.m. Tuesday and arrested Liadis without incident, seized his vehicle and handed him over to Wareham police.

Liadis was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Wareham District court. Duxbury police searched his vehicle Wednesday morning and say they found items they believe were stolen from the bank in Wareham.
