The theft of a 65 year-old Hingham woman’s purse at a local supermarket last month results in the arrest of a Hull man and a Bellingham woman being summoned to court.
Hingham Police Sergeant Steven Dearth said 32 year-old John Mulloy has been charged with larceny from a person 65 or older and conspiracy.
Mulloy was arraigned in Hingham District Court after being held over the weeeknd in the Plymouth County Jail.
A 23-year-old Bellingham woman is due in court on the same charges, for allegedly trying to cash checks taken from the purse.
Dearth explained that the theft happened when the victim was unloading groceries from her shopping cart.
Dearth also stated that Mulloy allegedly used the victim’s credit cards several times in South Weymouth prior to the woman reporting them as stolen.
