On Monday afternoon, Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Rick Sullivan will be in Rockland to present the town with a grant to fund municipal clean energy projects.
The Green Communities Designation and Grant Program, a result of the Green Communities Act signed by Governor Patrick in 2008, rewards communities that earn Green Communities designation by meeting a number of clean energy benchmarks.
Also participting in the presentation at the Rockland Middle-High School will be Department of Energy Resources Commissioner Mark Sylvia, and a number of state and local officials.
Rockland is one of seven new Green Communities, bringing the total statewide to 110.
